Talent Shortages & Skills Gaps: 5 Ways to Win the War For Talent
Pre-Approved for 1.5 General recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification.
Session Description:
“The War For Talent,” published in 1998 by McKinsey & Co., predicted that demographic changes would create an environment where our most important corporate resource – talented employees – would be increasingly harder to find.
Human resources leaders and executives around the globe are faced with talent shortages and a lack of candidates who possess the required skills to fill critical roles. New battlefronts are emerging in the war for talent. HR must learn how to fight and win through innovative strategies to attract, recruit and retain the talent that our businesses need.
HR leaders must participate as contributing partners in their organization’s strategic planning process and must ensure that their companies have the right talent at the right time and in the right place. They must also develop and implement new recruiting, retention and leadership programs to address the changing business needs and compete for in-demand and scarce talent while recognizing that hiring criteria and training opportunities must be revised and addressed.
In this session, Jennifer McClure will help business leaders and HR professionals acknowledge and embrace the changing world of recruiting. She will also provide five ways to attract and retain high-demand talent and develop innovative strategies to address critical talent shortages and skills gaps.
